Camping Gadgets
My husband and I are not in love with camping, but most of our neighbors enjoy camping, so our kids had heard from their friends how fun camping is. Our kids reminded us that you can’t be a true kid if you haven’t gone camping with your family. So having the desire to be good parents, we began preparations to go on a camping trip.
After some research, we decided to go to Fish Lake. We wanted this to be a good experience for our family since we rarely vacation. We carefully planned by gathering supplies, maps, and servicing the car. Conversation among our kids about the anticipated vacation made my husband and I excited too.Â
Our first surprise when we arrived to our campsite was that there were no trees. We both expected trees not a barren dirt field. Since it was July, it was very HOT and uncomfortable without trees especially in the tent so we headed to the lake to fish and canoe. About the time we were in the middle of the lake, a strong wind came up and blew us clear across the lake despite our efforts to go in the direction of our campsite. We were until night fall getting back across the lake. We were all thirsty, hungry and sunburned.Â
We were able to catch some nice fish, but this camping trip didn’t change our minds about not liking camping.  I think the next time we go camping I will take some cool gadgets to entertain myself just in case there are no trees, and I am not enjoying myself.
