Wisdom Teeth
My son had his wisdom teeth taken out this morning. Since we have dental insurance, we opted to take him to an oral surgeon rather than a dentist.  We have had family members that had their wisdom teeth taken out by a dentist and sat in the dental chair for two to three hours with their mouth wide open listening to sounds that make you feel like your jaw is being ripped apart.
It seems to me like surgeons that remove wisdom teeth have it down to a science……it takes a total of 30 minutes to put the patient to sleep and to remove all four teeth.   I think the best thing about having wisdom teeth removed by an oral surgeon is that you don’t remember scary shots, grinding sounds, tugging and pulling.  You wake up and it is all done!
If there were preventative measures you could take so you wouldn’t have to have your wisdom teeth removed, I’d follow the preventative guidlines to the T.   But since there aren’t, I buy remedies instead like ice packs for swollen cheeks and lip balm for dry lips.Â
