Football “A” Team
My son just made the 8th grade football ”A” team. Last year when he tried out, he had an injured shoulder so couldn’t try out so they assigned him to the “B” team. He is excited and enjoys being part of the “A” team this year.
I never have understood why males get such an adrenaline rush from knocking each other over, or for that matter, at times knocking each other out. We call our son the ”plow boy” because he can knock over opponents that are double his size.
I occasionally have omens that he is going to get hurt, but I try to suppress those thoughts because he is so happy when he is on the football field. My son’s coaches like him, and they compliment him on his bull dozing strength, and his committment to be there each day at 6:30 a.m.; the coaches’ praise is great for his self-esteem.
