About Me/Contact Me

Hello,

I am the mother of six children and Vice President of American Promotions, Inc.

I was raised on a farm in Idaho.   I got out of bed pretty well every morning at 5:30 or 6:00 a.m. to change the water and hoe beets.  My siblings and I used to make up songs to break the boredom of moving up and down, up and down, up and down the beet rows.  The only thing that I liked about the beet field was that  I had one of the most sought after suntans at church.

You would think as much as I despised farm work that I would have never considered marrying a farmer, but that is exactly who I married.  It didn’t take me long to learn that being a farmer’s daughter was actually easier than being a farmer’s wife.  My husband and I endured the roller coaster agricultural market of the 80’s until we realized that we had to make a change because we could not provide for our family on a small 200-acre farm.  So we packed up our four children and moved to Utah to start a new career.

We had a couple of more children after we moved to Utah and with a few side roads along the way, I found a job working within the advertising specialty industry.  It is so much more intersting and fun than farming and hoeing beets.  There is one thing that I still do as I meet goals in the promotional product industry, I sing, “You’ve Come a Long Way Baby”, a song that my siblings and I made up in the beet field as we completed each acre or field of beets.

In my limited leisure time, I enjoying watching a movie, reading a short story, going for walk, or spending time with  with my husband and children.

I’d love to hear your thoughts and comments about any of my blog entries.  Thank you.
