I'm LaRae's oldest son. She made me take piano lessons for three years. I hated every minute spent on the wretched instrument. During one of my many pleas to quit piano lessons, my mom came up with an offer that she didn't think I would accept: "You can continue piano lessons practicing for 30 minutes per day, or you can quit and scrub walls for 2 hours per day."

I chose to scrub walls. The scrubbing didn't last for more than two weeks (I think she saw how badly I didn't want to play the piano). The subject was dropped, but not without a promise/prophecy from mom: "You will regret this someday."

Fifteen years later, I'm swallowing my pride and admitting that mom was right. I wish I would have continued with my piano lessons.

Great post! I too use audible for self-improvement books, business books, and novels; but it seems the internet world moves too fast for audio books to keep up.
I've found it necessary to spend about 30-45 minutes per day reading a few select newsletters and blogs. Marketing VOX is my main source. It keeps me fresh and up to date on what is happening in the internet world.
